"I downloaded a client's .mts files off their Panasonic HD disk camera thinking that I could easily convert them to something easily read by FCP.
As this is going onto SD DVD, the workflow is to downconvert all the rushes to work in DV-PAL Widescreen format. I have tried Voltaic, but I am not getting smooth movements. Procoder on the PC is ok, but whenever a red/orange colour comes on screen, other colours start 'pulsing' like a hunting auto white balance. (This is not on the original files so not a camera issue).
The client has taken the camera off to the other side of the world now so I can't play out via component, which is what I should have done in the first place. Can anyone advise on the next course of action? Thanks." from forums.creativecow

AVCHD is a highly compressed video format and often recorded by Camcorder like JVC GZ-HM400, Sony HDR-SR10E and Canon Power-Shot ELPH 300 HS, Canon VIXIA HFS10, Sony Cyber-Shot, Panasonic AG-HM, Panasonic Lumix etc in AVCHD (MTS, M2TS,TS) format.

Final Cut Pro is a professional non-linear editing software application and provides non-linear, non-destructive editing of any QuickTime compatible video format including DV, HDV, MOV, MPEG-4 etc.

Some popular camcorder record with .mts video:
Canon: Canon Vixia HG21, Canon Vixia HF S100, canon VIXIA HF200, Canon HF100, Canon HD camcorder HG10

 Sony: SDR-SR10, Sony HDR-SR11, Sony HDR-XR100, Sony HDR XR-500V, Sony HDR-TG1, Sony HDR-CX7, SDR HDR-SR5

Panasonic: DMC-ZS3 camcorder, Panasonic TZ-7 (ZS3 in the US)., Panasonic hdc-sd9 camera, Panasonic HDC-HS300,Panasonic HMC70P, Panasonic HDC-SD10 camcorder, Panasonic DMC TZ7, Panasonic HMC70P AVCHD

Have you tried importing mts to Final Cut Pro X?

Keep in mind that we also can't import .mts files directly from the Finder. If you navigate to them from the Import dialog, it will have them grayed out. FCPX doesn't work with them directly, you must import MTS files directly from the camera, from a memory card (with the original file structure in place), or from a camera archive. But having to use camera archives is stupid.

If you want to edit AVCHD in Final Cut Pro/FCPX or add AVCHD footage in Final Cut. Then you need a AVCHD Converter to convert AVCHD to FCP supported formats.

mts final cut pro converter mac is an awesome tool to convert mts to final cut pro mac format, like DV, HDV,MOV, MPEG-4 etc. It's specially designed for Canon, JVC, Sony, Hitachi and Panasonic camera users with easy-to-use interface and powerful functions. Owning this Mac AVCHD Convert, you will have no difficulty in mts to final cut pro process.
